CHANEL Jumbo Classic Double Flap Beige Clair Caviar Leather Gold Tone Hardware
The CHANEL Classic Double Flap is the House's most enduring silhouette — Karl Lagerfeld's 1983 reimagining of Coco Chanel's original 1955 design. The diamond quilting, interlocking CC turn-lock and leather-woven chain have barely changed in over forty years, which is precisely why the style still reads as current.
This example is the spacious Jumbo size in Beige Clair caviar leather with gold-tone hardware — a warmer, more versatile alternative to the house's ubiquitous black, worn far less often despite carrying the same construction and hardware quality throughout. Caviar's grained, textured finish resists marking and holds its structure better than smooth lambskin, making it the more practical choice for daily wear.

Celine Nano Luggage in Smooth Calfskin
Phoebe Philo's Luggage gave Celine its silhouette. Introduced in 2010, the winged front and zipped pocket read as a face — a piece of design so recognisable it defined the house for a decade. The Nano is the smallest of the family and the one that has aged best: structured enough to hold its shape, small enough to wear crossbody.
This example is smooth calfskin with the aged-gold hardware of the original era, a finish Celine deliberately antiqued rather than polished. Later production moved to drummed leather and lighter fittings, which makes the smooth-and-gold combination increasingly difficult to find.

Hermès Constance 18 in Étoupe Swift with Gold Hardware
Designed in 1959 and named for the daughter born on the day of its release, the Constance is the quietest member of the Hermès trinity and, by some measures, the hardest to obtain. Its flat envelope silhouette is defined entirely by the sculptural H clasp — a mechanism that opens with a single motion and gives the bag its whole character. Worn long as a crossbody or doubled to the shoulder, it carries with the ease of something far less rare.
In Étoupe, the warm greige that has become one of the house's most enduring neutrals, with gold hardware and contrasting ecru saddle stitching.
