Travelling With Designer Bags: What We Recommend

A beautiful bag deserves a beautiful trip — and a little quiet planning is what makes that possible.

Travelling with designer pieces is not about showing them off. It is about carrying them safely, comfortably and in ways that protect both the bag and your peace of mind.

Choose pieces that suit the journey

Smooth lambskin is exquisite, but it is rarely the right travel companion. Caviar, coated canvas, Togo, Clemence and Epsom tend to be more forgiving. Hardware-heavy chains can be tiring across long days.

A medium structured shoulder bag, a quiet crossbody, or a sturdy tote often makes the most graceful travel partner.

Pack it before you pack with it

Stuff your bag gently with soft tissue or a cotton pouch to keep its shape during transit. Place it inside its dust bag, then inside your luggage surrounded by softer items.

Avoid pressing it directly against hard edges, zippers or shoes.

Travel is hard on objects. A few minutes of thoughtful packing protects years of beauty.

In the cabin,

When possible, carry your most important pieces with you rather than checking them. Beautiful bags do not belong in cargo holds.

Weather and elements

Rain, salt air, strong sun and humidity all leave traces. A light, breathable rain cover, an umbrella, or simply switching to a more weather-friendly piece can save a beloved bag from quiet damage.

On arrival

When you arrive, give your bag a moment. Unstuff it gently, wipe it down, let it rest in its dust bag in a cool space. Travel is busy — but the small pause at the end is what keeps the piece beautiful for the next trip.

Most of all

Enjoy it. A beautiful bag carried through real places, real moments and real memories is exactly what luxury is meant for.
