The Story Behind MIKUN: A Letter From the Founder

The Story Behind MIKUN: A Letter From the Founder

MIKUN began the way many quiet things begin — slowly, personally, and from a feeling I could not quite put into words.

Fashion has been part of my life for as long as I can remember.

Long before MIKUN existed, I had the privilege of building and growing beautiful brands. Along the way, I was fortunate to experience moments I never imagined — from working alongside incredible people in fashion and media to sponsoring international talent and seeing firsthand how powerful personal style can be.

But what stayed with me most wasn't the glamour.

It was how fashion made women feel.

I've always loved beautiful things. Not because of status or labels, but because of what they represented. Confidence. Individuality. Craftsmanship. A small reminder of who you are, even in the middle of a busy life.

Then life changed.

I became a wife. A mother. A full-time professional. Like so many women, my priorities shifted. The handbag I once dreamed about became less important than school fees, sports uniforms, family holidays, groceries, and creating memories for my children.

Treating myself quietly moved down the list.

But my appreciation for beautiful design never disappeared.

It simply evolved.

I realised there were countless women just like me. Women who still loved luxury, but approached it differently. Women who wanted to buy thoughtfully. Women who valued quality over quantity. Women who appreciated craftsmanship but didn't feel the need to pay full retail prices to enjoy it.

Women who wanted luxury to fit their lives, not define them.

A bag is rarely just a bag. It is part of how a woman moves through her life.

That's why I created MIKUN.

Not simply as a resale platform, but as a trusted destination for women who appreciate timeless design and thoughtful consumption.

A place where beautiful pieces can continue their story.

A place where luxury feels personal, approachable and authentic.

A place where women can buy with confidence, knowing every item has been carefully reviewed and authenticated.

Trust sits at the heart of everything we do.

Every piece that arrives at MIKUN is carefully examined through our authentication process, combining expert assessment with advanced technology to ensure every item is genuine and represented honestly.

Because trust isn't a feature.

It's the foundation.

A circular kind of beauty

I believe luxury should be carried, enjoyed and appreciated — not hidden away.

Many of the pieces you'll find at MIKUN come from wardrobes where they were once deeply loved. Now they're ready for their next chapter with someone new.

There is something beautiful about that.

A well-made piece deserves a long life.

Craftsmanship deserves to be preserved.

And sustainability can be elegant.

Most of all, I believe women deserve to feel like themselves through every chapter of life.

Thank you for being here

If you are reading this, you are part of the story. Whether you are buying, selling, browsing or simply curious — thank you for sharing in something quietly built with love.

There is more to come. I am grateful you are here for it.
